Without the filibuster, Kamala Harris would be the most radical, partisan president ever

Vice President Kamala Harris wants independent voters to believe she would govern in a centrist and bipartisan fashion, but the most radical and partisan members of her party flatly admit they plan to end the Senate filibuster so they are able to enact a far-left agenda without a single Republican vote.

“I know there are people of various political views watching tonight,” Harris said during her nomination acceptance speech last week. “And I want you to know: I promise to be a president for all Americans." The previous night, Oprah Winfrey said in her prime-time speech that Harris is the better candidate for “independents and the undecideds,” in other words, for those who want moderation rather than radicalism.

It is with such transparent falsehoods that Democrats sought, and still seek, to hoodwink voters with assertions that are scripted and poll-tested and to pile lie upon lie about the agenda of the party of the Left.

At smaller panel discussions, other Democrats were reassuring far-left activists that a Harris win would enable them to pass a radical agenda that would fundamentally unbalance the separation of powers and thus wreck the constitutional design of our nation.

Speaking at an event hosted by the left-wing Brennan Center for Justice, a group responsible for letting violent criminals go free without bail, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) said Senate Democrats would be “virtually certain” to pass a Supreme Court term-limits bill by a simple majority if Harris became president.

Democrats have passed partisan, far-left legislation without a Republican vote before. Harris cast the 51st vote for President Joe Biden's $1.9 trillion inflation-igniting fiscal stimulus bill, legislation that Harris had wanted to double to $4 trillion.

The bill was passed through a legislative process called "reconciliation," which is governed by arcane rules that limit what subjects can be included. Democrats still need Republican votes to reach the 60-vote threshold to get past a filibuster and pass legislation on nonfinancial matters, such as election integrity, abortion, or amnesty for illegal immigrants. They even tried to pass legislation to make voter ID laws illegal nationwide. This was one of Harris’s top priorities as vice president.

Democrats even tried to change Senate rules so they could pass their voter ID ban with just 50 votes, but thankfully, they were stopped by Sens. Joe Manchin (I-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ). Manchin and Sinema were Democrats when they cast those votes, but they have been run out of the party since then. If Democrats can hold on to Montana and Ohio, they will have 50 seats. Manchin and Sinema will be gone. In a Harris administration, Vice President Tim Walz would cast the 51st vote to end the filibuster.

Once the filibuster is gone, Democrats won't hesitate to use the tyranny of the majority to pass radical bills on a wide array of issues. It would be foolish to think they'd limit its use to banning voter ID.

“We are not going to want to give the Republicans multiple stalls, multiple filibusters on this, so the bill that gets around the filibuster will be virtually certain to include permanent reproductive rights, permanent restored voting rights, getting rid of corrupting billionaire dark money, and Supreme Court reform,” Whitehouse said last week. “If you’ve got a bill like that moving, that’s going to have spectacular tailwinds behind it.”

Once Democrats have ended the filibuster for abortion and unconstitutional Supreme Court term limits, they will end it for everything.

Harris has not compromised for a single Republican vote in her entire political career. Every election she has won has been in heavily Democratic jurisdictions where Republican votes are irrelevant. As a senator, she co-sponsored no major bipartisan legislation and racked up a voting record more left-wing than that of any other member of the upper chamber. She doesn’t have a centrist bone in her body.

If Harris wins the White House, and if Democrats maintain control of the Senate, America will face the most partisan and radically left-wing government in its history. Abortion will be made legal up until birth nationwide despite a majority of citizens opposing such barbarity, illegal immigrants will vote with ease without voter ID requirements, energy prices will skyrocket as the Green New Deal crimps fossil fuel investment and production, and construction costs for housing and infrastructure will soar because Harris will demand "environmental justice" reviews every time.

If you want to see what America would look like under Harris, imagine California without the dazzling scenery and perfect weather. There is a reason people have been fleeing California for decades: The Democratic Party’s radical policies have made the state increasingly unaffordable. A Harris administration and a Democratic Senate would spread that nightmare to every state.
